A hearty plant-based twist on a classic comfort food.

There's something about a good cheesesteak that just hits the spot — warm hoagie bread, savory steak, melted cheese, and sautéed veggies. Growing up around New York and the Northeast, this was one of those street-food classics that always smelled incredible.
The good news? You don't need meat or dairy to enjoy this iconic sandwich. This Vegan Philly Cheesesteak is packed with flavor using plant-based steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and melty vegan cheese. It's quick to make, satisfying, and perfect for lunch, dinner, or even game day.

Prep the vegan cheese whiz

Add the cheese whiz

Assemble and serve
Slice your onions and peppers. If you're making a vegan cheese whiz, prepare it ahead of time so the flavors can set and thicken.
Prepare your plant-based steak according to the package instructions. Once cooked, set it aside.
In the same pan, sauté the onions and peppers over medium heat until softened and slightly caramelized. Add the cooked plant-based steak back into the pan and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, steak seasoning, and a splash of soy sauce. Stir everything together so the flavors combine.
Lightly toast your hoagie roll if desired. Fill it with the steak and veggie mixture, then top with vegan cheddar shreds or cheese whiz. Add vegan mayo or mustard if you like, and serve hot.
